The Kirk Horn Fund for Music

Kirk put an enormous amount of heart into Music in the Round, serving on the planning committee and acting as emcee for many years. He was a visionary member of Short North Rotary, responsible for many of the club’s shenanigans—including a concert in Africa benefiting the Rafiki kids. His vision was to take music to kids at home and abroad—it’s only right that we help carry on the vision he established through Music in the Round! The program has been giving music lessons to kids in Columbus Ohio and beyond.

Ride 4 a Woman

In the town of Buhoma, Uganda, the nonprofit Ride 4 a Woman has uplifted women struggling with HIV, domestic violence, hunger, and poverty. Ride 4 a Woman provides clean drinking water, employment, scholarships, shelter, microloans, and long-term solutions for people in need.

Riverview International Center

At the Riverview International Center, we desire to assist with the basic needs of New Americans in the Riverview Drive neighborhood. Our office is a place where people can walk in and get help with any question(s) they may have about navigating life in America. If we cannot provide the help ourselves, we will work hard to find someone who can. The goal is to be a flexible and community-oriented resource for whoever comes through our door.

Rides 4 Refugees

Upon arriving in the U.S., refugees must find work, get kids to school, and do all the things most of us take for granted. A vehicle is vitally important for them to be able to integrate into and become truly productive members of society. The Vehicle Match Grant will match up to $4,000 of our client’s money for a vehicle, help them understand what can be afforded, and then work with local auto dealers to find a vehicle.

PEARLS in Haiti

PEARLS partners with the village of Bonnette, Haiti to help alleviate their most pressing needs. PEARLS does this by providing essential funding, educational opportunities, and resources that will be greatly enriched for the entire community. In addition, PEARLS is collaborating with the director of The Village School of the Future in Bonnette to provide financial assistance to students whose families cannot afford to send them to school. PEARLS’ priorities include access to daily meals for students and clean drinking water for the entire village.
